Book ConsultationThe work
Build on what you agree on
Your written retainer identifies the work we agree to do. A licensed attorney prepares and reviews it with both of you.
A plan for the divorce
Review your shared decisions, identify the information still needed, and explain the steps for an agreed divorce.
Your agreement in writing
Prepare the agreed terms about property, debts, support, and parenting where relevant to your case. Both of you should understand the choices and the documents before signing.
Papers and filing steps
Prepare the court papers within your agreed scope and explain the filing process. The court controls its schedule and decides whether to grant the divorce.
Working with both of you
Joint representation starts with clarity
Agreement alone does not make joint representation appropriate in every case. We check the applicable rules and your circumstances before accepting the engagement.
Informed written consent
We explain the benefits and risks, how information is shared, and the option of independent counsel. Each of you gives informed written consent before joint representation begins.
If agreement changes
If a conflict prevents us from continuing for both of you, we stop the joint work and explain the need for separate counsel. We do not take one spouse's side against the other in this joint engagement. Contested proceedings are outside its scope.
One fee for a mutual split
A one-time $5,000 fee.
Your written retainer defines the work. The fee pays for legal work, not a particular result.
